Officially back from Ashland, OR, and completely addicted to dirt. I still love my road bike, but I can’t take it down the trail! Oh man, OR is gorgeous. It’s amazing how warm it is there, only to drive up a mountain to ride and have it be much cooler. Seeing snow capped mountains made my summer. If I had easy access to the ocean I would be there instantly. The trails were amazing, like nothing I’ve ever done or seen before. Bridge crossings, waterfalls, epic superD-esque down hill, and some of the most narrow single track I’ve been on. I loved it! I now love the feeling of getting mud spattered all over my back and face. My bf and I also saw the Ashland superD race while we were there, so we got to see some pros tear it up! And it was so awesome seeing quite a few women there! Most were definitely in their 40’s, but they were so badass! I look forward to riding like them, hopefully sooner than 40, so someday! Awesome mini vacation, and glad to be back in my nick of the woods!
packing, and some nurturing of a disheveled soul taking finals the rest of the week, stand between me and mountain biking in Oregon with him. :)
